President-elect Donald Trump met with President Joe Biden at the White House on Wednesday, with the meeting lasting for nearly two hours to discuss the transition.
After his landslide victory in the presidential election and the Republicans’ taking control of the Senate and retaining control of the House of Representatives, many wondered how Biden would respond to his party’s devastating loss. Some believed that Biden would be secretly happy about the defeat, as it would be karma for the fact that he was unceremoniously pushed out of the presidential race by Vice President Kamala Harris and numerous other high-profile Democrats. Others assumed Biden would carry on with the left’s narrative of Trump being a “Nazi” and a “threat to democracy,” and would thus be reluctant to meet with his successor.
It appears that Biden is taking Trump’s victory in stride, and might actually be secretly happy with it, as he was photographed smiling slyly while sitting with Trump at the White House.
Joe Biden COULD NOT wipe that massive smile off his face while going around the White House with Trump today 🤣
Even JILL looks elated 😂

It is unclear what Trump and Biden discussed during the private portion of their meeting, though they did briefly sit together in front of the press inside the Oval Office in a historic moment.
“Well, Mr. President-Elect and Former President Donald, congratulations,” Biden said in front of the media, shaking Trump’s hand.
“Thank you,” Trump replied.
Biden went on to emphasize that his administration and Trump’s incoming administration are committed to “a smooth transition,” confirming that the Biden-Harris administration would “do everything we can to make sure you’re accommodated.”
Trump graciously thanked his successor and predecessor.
“Politics is tough, and it’s in many cases not a very nice world, but it is a nice world today, and I appreciate it very much,” the president-elect said. “A transition that’s so smooth it will be as smooth as it can get, and I very much appreciate that, Joe.”
After Biden thanked the media, reporters immediately began shouting out questions. Neither of them took questions.

This was Trump’s second important meeting during his visit to Washington, D.C., as he addressed the House Republican Conference on Capitol Hill before heading to the White House to meet with Biden.
“Isn’t it nice to win? It’s nice to win,” Trump began his remarks.
