Known throughout his life as being somewhat of a loner who kept to himself, no one knew the deep secret this social worker was hiding for his entire life. When he suddenly passed away at the age 63, the shocking truth was uncovered, leaving the entire community in disbelief.

Although he lived a frugal lifestyle, no one knew until after his death just how much he had managed to save up.
Alan Naiman was a social worker who kept mostly to himself outside of work. Those who did know him saw him as a penny pincher, evidenced by the fact that he would mend his shoes with duct tape instead of buying new ones or take advantage of senior discounts whenever possible.
Even though he made around $67,234 annually from his job, Alan was always looking for deals while grocery shopping or dining out. This commitment to thriftiness wasn’t because he didn’t make enough money but because he had big plans for what he saved up over time – plans that no one knew about until after his death.
It turns out that Alan had been investing wisely and taking on extra jobs during the last two decades of his life at the state Department of Social and Health Services in order to build up a fortune hidden from everyone else. He also inherited some money when both of his parents passed away which helped contribute to this savings fund.
Despite having access to this wealth however, Alan chose not to indulge in any major purchases or lavish spending habits like many people do with their newfound riches but rather dedicated himself fully towards helping others through charity work instead.
When it came time for him to pass away due to cancer, Alan revealed just how much money he had saved up through leaving most of it behind as donations for various charities focused on aiding children in need including the Pediatric Interim Care Center (which received a $2.5 million donation), Childhaven and Treehouse foster care organization among others – organizations which had no prior knowledge or relationship with him whatsoever before receiving such an unexpected surprise.
