In a blow to the #FreedomConvoy truck drivers who have filled the streets of Ottawa with the mellifluous sound of their horns stridently honking in the name of liberation from COVID panic mandates, an Ontario Provincial Superior Court Judge has slapped a 10-day injunction on the drivers preventing them from honking their horns in a cacophony of peaceful, non-violent resistance.
Judge Hugh McLean granted the 10-day long injunction as a temporary measure in order to hear more evidence but told the press that he had heard enough on day 1 of the proceedings to make the short-term ruling. The truckers have been protesting the Canadian Government’s COVID mandates since January 28th, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has refused to even hear the protestors’ demands. One Parliamentarian even declared the protests to be “racist” in spite of the distinctly multicultural flavor of the fight for freedom.
According to the Canadian Government controlled CBC,
“The horn tactic is organized and planned by the defendants to cause serious discomfort and inconvenience,” reads the document filed with the court outlining the grounds for the motion.
“The air horns and train horns are extremely loud and can cause permanent hearing damage … the air horns and train horns are blasted at sound levels of 105 to 120 decibels for prolonged periods.”
The judge said that while the participants have a right to protest, taking their horns away would not rob them of that right.”
Canadian attorney Paul Champ allegedly representing a group of aggrieved Ottawa citizens in a proposed multi-million-dollar class-action lawsuit against the protestors argues that the “loud and prolonged honking is causing irreparable harm to local residents.” as reported by Rebel News.
Conversely, Keith Wilson representing the protest organizers has argued that his clients are not personally responsible for the noise given that Ottawa is currently experiencing a “grassroots protest against pandemic measures.”.
“There is more evidence before you that downtown Ottawa residents don’t feel they’re being harmed and this is part of the democratic process,” he said.
“Members of my community have been harassed because of their skin colour,” he said. “Yelled at for wearing masks, subjected to hurtful and racist symbols, torturous honking, and there are accounts of assaults,” he said.
Prominent images and videos of Indian-Canadian protestors dancing joyfully to Punjabi music while waving the Canadian flag would seem to severely undercut this claim as a lie verging on the nonsensical.

The Trucker’s Response? More Honking
Within minutes of the ruling, the Canadian truckers responded, by resoundingly blaring their horns. On behalf of Patriot United News: HONK. HONK.
