Hundreds of pro-Hamas college students openly celebrated the anniversary of the October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks during demonstrations at Columbia University on Monday — shouting, “Resistance is glorious! We will be victorious!”
Happening Now: Columbia students are chanting “Resistance is glorious! We will be victorious!"
On the anniversary of Oct. 7th, this is disgusting.

While some reports have called the activists “pro-Palestine” or “anti-Israel,” the fact that they are celebrating the anniversary of Hamas massacring more than 1,200 Israelis, wounding thousands, and kidnapping, torturing, and rape of hundreds means that they are outright pro-Hamas.
During the pro-Hamas event, some college students carried a banner reading: “We Will Honor All Our Martyrs.” Declaring the terrorists who murdered, tortured, and raped innocent people to be “martyrs” is a common tactic of Hamas and other terror groups — meaning that these college students are outright parroting terrorist propaganda.
It is currently unclear how many of the pro-Hamas activists were actually college students, versus how many are outside actors taking advantage of the venue.
Breitbart News previously reported that students at Columbia University and other New York City-based universities had scheduled a walkout on Monday as part of their demonstrations celebrating October 7.
Columbia University’s student newspaper, the Daily Spectator, also reported on the planned demonstrations — noting that the school’s administration was concerned that the walkout would violate university rules and that there could be violence during the event. The report also acknowledged that there was an opposing protest being held to mourn those lost on October 7, 2023.

The college newspaper reported: “Before the walkout, pro-Palestinian demonstrators continued their daily vigil, reading the names of over 50,000 Palestinians killed in the war in Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023. Protesters held banners reading ‘We will honor all our martyrs,’ ‘Free Gaza free speech,’ and ‘Break the chains and let them fall.’ Beside them on Low Plaza, dozens of pro-Israel protesters stood holding Israeli and American flags and pictures of hostages taken on Oct. 7, 2023.”
While Jewish students at Columbia mourn the anniversary of the Oct. 7th attack, a group of terror supports are chanting “resistance is justified.”

The report continued: “Interim University President Katrina Armstrong announced the additional security measures in a Sunday email and wrote that the walkout was not notified through the process outlined in the Guidelines to the Rules of University Conduct. Armstrong raised concerns about groups unaffiliated with the University coming to Columbia’s campus ‘for activities that raise concern about the potential for violence.’”
A New York City-based pro-Palestine organization that calls itself “Within Our Lifetime” egged on the pro-Hamas protest in a post on X, urging college students to call out of class and work in order to “stand with Gaza and uplift the Palestinian people resisting genocide by any means necessary since 1948.”

This is far from the first pro-Hamas event held at Columbia University, as Breitbart News noted that the college “was the site of some of the most antisemitic, and violent, anti-Israel protests over the year since October 7. Several university administrators, including the former president, resigned over their mishandling of the protests.”
