On the occasion of Juneteenth, failed Democratic candidate Robert Francis O’rourke made a pathetic attempt to opportunistically latch on to the celebration of emancipation for black Americans in an obvious and insultingly condescending attempt to sow division and elicit political support for his Democrat-Socialist agenda by portraying them as victims. O’rouke’s blatant, cynical and disingenuous hijacking of one of the most important celebrations of American heritage didn’t go unnoticed by his erstwhile opponent Senator Ted Cruz. Naturally, Cruz doesn’t just set him straight, he destroys him.
O’Rourke tweeted,
“After 156 years of celebrating Juneteenth, Texas continues to perpetuate racist systems designed to prevent multiracial democracy. Mass incarceration. Convict labor. Jim Crow 2.0 voter suppression. All formulated to keep Black Texans from full citizenship and full liberation.”
Senator Cruz was quick to reply and took distinct issue with O’Rourke,
“Dems cynically perpetuate lies and stoke racial division. Juneteenth is a celebration of emancipation and our nation’s continual journey towards racial justice. Rich white Dems try to convince African-Americans that equality is impossible in America. This is a lie,” Cruz wrote, using the hashtag for Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous speech “I have a dream.”
According to Newsweek, “Though the two politicians are in agreement on the importance of Juneteenth for Black Americans, conflict between Cruz and O’Rourke continues. O’Rourke, who ran against Cruz in the 2018 Texas Senate race but lost, has been pushing for voting reform in Texas, leading his own campaign called “For the People: The Texas Drive for Democracy.”

Of course the so-called “voting reform” the Beto wants is nothing but a shallow, ham-fisted push to dilute the ballots in Texas by allowing millions of illegal votes to go unopposed through unlimited mail-in ballots, a ban on Voter ID, and serious curtailment of routine voter-list maintenance.
“This legislation would register millions of illegal aliens to vote. It is intended to do that,” Cruz said. “This bill doesn’t protect voting rights, it steals voting rights from the American people.”
Indeed, the most dangerous prospect to black and latino voters’ political franchise is the dilution of their votes and their voice in the government. Any time that a fraudulent vote or a vote from an illegal alien is accepted, a legitimate vote is canceled out which harms us all. As frequently as Cruz destroys Beto in these little spats, he really doesn’t seem to learn, does he?
