Our little friend Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is up to no good again.
AOC has announced that she wants Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito investigated, possibly even removed from the court.
Her reason… she didn’t like a flag that was flying over his vacation home.
Radical on the Bench
A picture surfaced this week in a New York Times article of Alito’s vacation home.
The “An Appeal to Heaven” flag was flying, which upset AOC because some of the rioters on January 6 were holding this flag (they were also holding American flags, so there is that).
She stated, “This is an alarm that I’ve been sounding for quite some time now. I think that what we are seeing here is an extraordinary breach … of not just the trust and the stature of the Supreme Court, but we are seeing a fundamental challenge to our democracy.
“Samuel Alito has identified himself with the same people who raided the Capitol on Jan. 6 and is now going to be presiding over court cases that have deep implications over the participants of that rally.
She then added, “And while this is a threat to our democracy, Democrats have a responsibility for … defending our democracy.
“And in the Senate, we have gavels — there should be subpoenas going out. There should be active investigations that are happening.”
Do you know who designed that flag? George Washington’s Secretary, Col. Joseph Reed.
The flag flew on navy vessels during the Revolutionary War.
Images of that flag were also incorporated into a state flag, and the flag currently stands outside the office of several members of Congress, including Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Rep. Eric Burlison.
Burlison defended Alito, stating, “The ‘An Appeal to Heaven’ flag isn’t provocative and has nothing to do with Jan. 6.
“The liberal media should pick up a history book.”
The call for an investigation over this is utterly ridiculous, but it clearly is not going away with AOC making noise about it and the New York Times framing it as a symbol of January 6.
