Stacey Abrams better get out her checkbook.
Not only is her campaign in debt, but a group she founded just got slapped with a huge bill.
The group has been ordered to pay nearly $250k in legal fees.
You Lose
Abrams founded Fair Fight Action after her loss to Governor Kemp in the 2018 election.
She sued Georgia on allegations of voter suppression and lost every count.
So, now she has to pay a total of $231,303.71 for court fees related to the case.
In the ruling, Judge Steven Jones stated, “Although Georgia’s election system is not perfect, the challenged practices violate neither the constitution nor the Voting Rights Act.”
He added the “burden on voters is relatively low,” and that Abrams’ group did not provide “…evidence of a voter who was unable to vote, experienced longer wait times, was confused about voter registration status.”
Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger stated, “This is a win for taxpayers and voters who knew all along that Stacey Abrams voter suppression claims were false, it has never been easier to vote and harder to cheat in the state of Georgia.
“This is a start, but I think Stacey Abrams should pay back the millions of taxpayer dollars the state was forced to spend to disprove her false claims.”
I guess Stacey is going to have to run for office again so she can generate some money to pay off all these bills.
