Dorothy, we are not in Kansas anymore.
Or, I guess I should say, Donald Trump, we are not in 2016 anymore.
If you watched Donald Trump’s big announcement on Tuesday, did you notice who was missing from the audience?
Let me help…
Ivanka Trump.
Staying Out of It
One of the redeeming aspects of the 2016 campaign for Trump was that his entire family was all-in.
His children were always by his side, every step of the way.
This time around, the only children that were in attendance were Barron, because he has to be, and Eric Trump.
Ivanka was not there by choice, as was Tiffany, who had just had her wedding at Mar-a-Lago, and Donald Jr. missed the event due to weather coming back from a trip.
When the media inquired as to where Ivanka was, she stated that she would support her father from afar because she was done with politics.
She stated, “I love my father very much. This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family.
“I do not plan to be involved in politics.
“While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena.”
Read into that what you want, but the dynamic of this run is changing rather dramatically.
Many have already noted that the energy level is not there and with Trump now claiming he is a victim, he looks weak.
Take the family support out of the equation, and you have a campaign that already seems to be stuck in the mud.
I can tell you just from checking out the reaction online, the overall energy and support for his campaign is just not there.
He has his diehard supporters, make no mistake about that, but Trump no longer has that dominating support that he once enjoyed throughout the entire party.
