If you watched any of the testimony of the former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle when she appeared before Congress, you saw the inconsistencies in what she told members of Congress.
I was waiting for someone to call her out, and it finally happened.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) is asking for the transcripts to be reviewed in order to have perjury charges referred to the Department of Justice for Cheatle.
Changing Your Story
Cheatle changed her story multiple times.
Honestly, it looked like Secretary Mayorkas had schooled her on how to give Congress the runaround.
The difference here, however, is that Cheatle was facing fire from both sides of the aisle, so the protection that Mayorkas typically enjoys from the Democrats was not present during Cheatle’s hearing.
At one point, Rep. Luna noted that Cheatle had given different answers to what was essentially the same question.
Here is how it all went down…
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna asks the chairman of the House Oversight Committee to look into perjury charges against Kimberly Cheatle.

Honestly, I was not surprised at all when Cheatle resigned because she got beat up pretty good on the Hill.
However, I would say that her problems are far from being over.
If Luna shows that she lied under oath, Cheatle can be referred for perjury charges.
Furthermore, it would not surprise me one bit to see a civil suit filed against her by the family of Corey Comperatore, who needlessly died that day because Cheatle and her team did not do their jobs.
Secret Service and local law enforcement had more than enough opportunities to apprehend the shooter when he was just a suspicious person.
They also had identified the shooter as a threat before Trump ever went on, so Trump never should have been able to take the stage until the threat was neutralized.
I have zero empathy for Cheatle, and she deserves whatever legal problems are coming her way.
