Prominent Owner Found Dead in Hotel Room

The owner of two prominent restaurants was found dead in his room by a hotel employee at around 8 p.m. on Monday, July 19.

Brian Williams, the owner of Pasquale’s and The Char in Beckley, West Virginia, was found dead in a hotel room.

Pasquale’s has been a Italian fine dining staple in the area for 55 years. The Char is also a fine dining restaurant, featuring steaks and seafood, and has been open for over 50 years.

Beckley Police have confirmed that Williams, who was 53 years old at the time of his death, was found at the Travel Lodge on Harper Road in Beckley.

His body has been sent to Charleston for an autopsy to be conducted to determine the cause of his death. At this time, foul play is not suspected.

Williams leaves behind a daughter, Morgan Williams.

“Brian was known for his generosity and giving back to the community. He was supportive of other local businesses and everyone he worked with. He will be greatly missed by all those who had the opportunity to know him,” his obituary states.
