Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has a growing problem on his hands.
He has a one-seat edge on record, but right now, he is back to being even with the GOP.
That is thanks for Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) and Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) spending some quality time in the hospital.
You Reap What You Sow
Democrats refused to remove Fetterman from the election and put someone that was actually healthy in the race.
So, they swore in a man who just suffered a major stroke and that was clearly having cognitive issues.
Now, he has caved to all the pressure and is being treated for depression.
We have no idea when he will be returning but even with his absence, they still had one vote in their pocket.
That changed last week when Senator Feinstein was hospitalized.
Feinstein, or more likely someone in her office, stated, “I was diagnosed over the February recess with a case of shingles.
“I have been hospitalized and am receiving treatment in San Francisco and expect to make a full recovery.
“I hope to return to the Senate later this month.”
Her absence means an otherwise full Senate is 49-49, so Republicans only need one defector to get legislation passed.
In addition to her physical woes, some rather disturbing reports about her mental cognitive skills have surfaced recently.
Dems had their chance to replace both of them, so now they can suffer the consequences.
