The lack of respect for our officers in this country continues.
A man tried to kill two police officers, wounding both.
He then barricaded himself, holding police at a standoff before he was finally taken into custody.
The Shooting
We all know Baltimore is no picnic, and two more officers being shot will not help the city’s reputation.
The alleged shooter has been identified as 24-year-old David Emory Linthicum.
After he barricaded himself in, officers were able to secure a perimeter and pin him down.
Police stated, “We have a person we believe is the suspect, a perimeter is set, and we are working to bring this incident to a peaceful resolution.”
There was a reported vehicle chase, then the suspect barricaded himself in near the Fallston Mall.
Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler announced, “We have the individual contained.
“This will be resolved here. There is no threat to the community.”
Those are pretty ominous words.
Eventually, they were able to get Linthicum in custody.
The Harford Sheriff’s Office stated, “This incident has spanned over two days and affected countless citizens.
“I want to thank the citizens for their vigilance and patience.”
