Governor Youngkin Issues Pardon For Loudoun County Father

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin sure is improving his national profile during this leadup to the 2024 election.

So much so, in fact, there are whispers that he could be a late entry into the field.

His latest move was to pardon a man who was widely celebrated by conservatives and arrested by Democrats.

He’s Pardoned

Remember all those school board meetings that turned into free-for-alls?

One of the people that started that ball rolling was Scott Smith.

Smith, if you recall, was the parent whose daughter was sexually assaulted at school.

She was allegedly raped by a boy wearing a girl’s skirt so he could use their bathroom.

Smith exposed all this during a board meeting, but he was arrested.

Youngkin stated, “In Virginia, parents matter and my resolve to empower parents is unwavering.

“A parent’s fundamental right to be involved in their child’s education, upbringing, and care should never be undermined by bureaucracy, school divisions, or the state.

“I am pleased to grant Scott Smith this pardon and help him and his family put this injustice behind them once and for all.”

I would not expect Youngkin to be foolish enough to step into the race in 2024, but he is quickly putting himself atop the favorites list for 2028.
