A shocking image has gone viral on social media of a paper shredding truck outside of the Department of Justice (DOJ), which comes after reports indicated that deep state bureaucrats were panicking about President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) for Attorney General.
The Oversight Project shared the image in a Tuesday post on X, writing: “Today a paper shredding truck arrived. We have maintained a physical investigative presence by the @TheJusticeDept, which also is more convenient for cooperating sources.”

Social media immediately lit up with people highlighting the fact that many had predicted the deep state would do something like this to protect themselves from a second Trump administration, as the photo appears to suggest that the DOJ is destroying sensitive paperwork before Trump and his allies could see it.
“Someone joked last week: ‘The only people with a busier schedule now than President-elect Donald Trump are the folks in the deep state shredding documents.’ I got a chuckle out of that,” wrote constitutional attorney Mark W. Smith.

“They’re destroying evidence. If a private citizen did this they’d be jailed,” popular X user Paul Szypula wrote, prompting another user to respond: “I mean, destruction of evidence or treason, which one would YOU rather be sentenced for?”

“They know Matt Gaetz is inevitable. That won’t save them. Shredding the evidence only incriminates them even more, and adds obstruction of justice to them,” another user wrote.

This shocking development comes after Trump announced last week that he would be nominating Gaetz as attorney general to clean up the deep state bureaucracy.
“Matt will end Weaponized Government, protect our Borders, dismantle Criminal Organizations and restore Americans’ badly-shattered Faith and Confidence in the Justice Department,” Trump explained in the announcement.
Meanwhile, Trump transition adviser Mark Paoletta has already warned career bureaucrats and attorneys at the DOJ that attempting to subvert, undermine or sabotage Trump’s second term would lead to their immediate termination. One of the top priorities for the incoming Trump administration is to purge the federal government of rogue actors and corrupt bureaucrats within the deep state.
