Once again, officers have been ambushed while serving a warrant.

The latest attack took place in Newark, NJ.

Two officers were shot, one in the leg, the other grazed in the neck with the bullet getting lodged in the shoulder.

Both are expected to recover.

Doing Door-to-Door

The officers were serving a warrant on a man named Kendall Howard.

They actually came upon him as they were leaving the building.

Howard allegedly opened fire, hitting both officers, then fled the scene.

Officers started to go door-to-door, with every alphabet agency in existence being called in to help.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy stated, “I am aware of and closely monitoring an unfolding situation in Newark.

“I am in touch with local authorities and the State is providing resources as requested.

“We will continue to support local law enforcement and ensure that all residents are safe.”

The next city over was also being put on alert.

Michael Melham, the mayor of Belleville, stated, “We are aware of the unfolding active shooter situation in Newark.

“The Belleville PD has been in touch with their counterparts in Newark to offer assistance.

“We stand ready to support Newark in whatever capacity needed.

“In the meantime, here in Belleville we will be increasing patrols along the Newark/Belleville border.”

At the time of this report, the suspect was still not in custody.
