Sources have alleged that Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), the 84-year-old former Speaker of the House, is privately planning to do “everything in her power” to ensure that 81-year-old President Joe Biden be replaced as the Democrat nominee.

Pelosi, who has also faced questions about the effects of her advanced age on her ability to do her job, reportedly fears that Biden’s reelection efforts will hurt the Democrat Party as a whole in the November election because of his obvious cognitive decline.
Speaking to Politico, an unnamed source close to Pelosi stated that she “does not want to call on him to resign” publicly, “but she will do everything in her power to make sure it happens.”
During a private conversation, Pelosi reportedly warned Biden that national polls predict that he has no chance of beating former President Donald Trump — which could have disastrous ramifications for Democrats down ballot.
“There’s nothing subtle about Nancy,” a second unnamed Pelosi ally told Politico. “She starts with the question: ‘What’s it take to win?’ Then works backwards.”
However, Pelosi has thus far refused to join many of her fellow Democrats in publicly calling for Biden to step down, instead resorting to manipulating the issue behind the scenes, according to sources.
Many prominent Democrats have been calling on Biden to drop out of the race since his disastrous debate performance, including Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), but Biden has remained defiant — repeatedly insisting that he is still capable of performing his duties. However, that defiance has faded recently, as he stated that he would only suspend his campaign if he was diagnosed with a “medical condition.” This startling admission came just before Biden suddenly caught COVID, prompting him to cancel a scheduled speech at the UnidosUS conference.
While some believe that the COVID diagnosis was legitimate, others believe it is a planned excuse to lead to Biden dropping out of the race or part of an effort to hide Biden from the public to prevent further controversy leading up to his official nomination at the Democratic National Convention next month.
Regardless, many believe that Biden could be dropping out of the race as soon as this weekend, according to Axios.
