Beauty queen, model, and former Miss Ukraine Anastasia Lenna has taken up arms to fight against the Russian troops currently invading her home country.
Anastasia Lenna, Ukraine‘s 2015 representative in the Miss Grand International beauty contest, has joined the fight to defend her home, according to a post on her Instagram account.
“Everyone who crosses the Ukrainian border with the intent to invade will be killed!” said one post, which was accompanied by a photo of armed soldiers blocking a roadway.
Another post to her Instagram story, which only lasts for 24 hours before it is deleted, showed the beauty queen training, firing a rifle at targets at a shooting range.
“Training. The invaders will die on our land! All world see this! Wait and see what will happen,” Lenna wrote in the post alongside the video, according to reporting by The Independent.
Another post from the former Miss Grand Ukraine joked that “Our [Ukraine’s] army is fighting in such a way that NATO should apply for entry into Ukraine.”
Lenna also shared a picture showing soldiers walking alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whom she referred to as “a true and strong leader.”
She has continued to share posts to her Instagram story urging support and soliciting donations for the Ukrainian armed forces.
Since announcing her intention to join the fight, Lenna’s social media following has grown from 75,000 Instagram followers to over 260,000 as of the evening of February 28th.
From her past posts on Instagram, it appears that Lenna has some marksmanship training. The marketing and management graduate from Slavisitik University in Kyiv has shared several pictures of herself wielding airsoft guns, decked out in full camo to go shooting in wooded areas for sport.
Now, it appears that she has traded plastic pellets for lead bullets.
Lenna had previously worked as a model and public relations manager in Turkey, according to her profile for Miss Grand International. She also has experience working as a translator, as she speaks five languages.
