A mayor has been suspended without pay due to a sexually-charged Snapchat that he had with a young girl. The more things change, the more they remain the same.

Patterson Mayor Dennis McCord has now been placed on unpaid administrative leave from his job as a high school math teacher at Patterson High School due to a scandal centering around a photo of a 15-year-old female that had been sent to him where she was wearing a string bikini.

People are now calling on McCord to resign from his mayoral position.

CBS13 obtained the police report, which showed the school’s investigation of the mayor for allegedly receiving an explicit Snapchat photo from a teenage female student wearing a bikini top and a thong. The police report indicates that the mayor told the school principal that he deleted the photo and blocked the girl.

Police Chief Joshua Clayton said, “Patterson Police were informed of the situation by the Patterson Unified School District. We conducted our own investigation in the matter to determine if any crime occurred. It was determined that there was no criminal violation related to the incident reported to us. At this time we have closed the case.”

A summary of the report states that due to the lack of criminal evidence and cooperation the criminal case was closed.

The Patterson Police report noted that the parents of the girl found online communication between their daughter and McCord that they considered to be inappropriate. According to the report, there were several attempts by the parents to contact McCord at Patterson High regarding the issue.

Patterson High Principal Dave Smith was reportedly contacted by the teen’s father who said he, “had an issue and wished to speak with her (sic) daughter’s teacher Dennis McCord.” The report further stated Smith later met with McCord to ask him about the issue he was having with the student. McCord claimed in the report, quoting Smith, that the student’s mother came to his classroom during the second period that day and confronted him, saying the student’s mother accused him of having an inappropriate relationship with her daughter.

McCord admitted to adding the student to his personal Snapchat account, according to the report. One or two days prior to Oct. 20, McCord said he received a photo from the student who was wearing a bikini top and thong, the report states. After receiving the photo, McCord said in the report that he deleted the photo and blocked the student. McCord did not provide further details or say if there was any other communication between he and the student, the police report states.

The report also states that McCord reported to Principal Smith that he had tutored the student multiple times after school and had added the teen to his personal Snapchat account on October 20. Smith contacted School Resource Officer Saul McNaul and expressed his concerns that “more events may have occurred between the two in which he is not aware of.”

McCord allegedly said “wish I was there” immediately after the girl sent the scandalous bikini photo of herself. Maybe if this guy gets relieved of his mayoral position after he has been suspended without pay President Biden will give him a cabinet post, but I digress.
