Instead of helping Americans suffering from Hurricane Helene and anticipating Hurricane Milton, Vice President Kamala Harris decided to go on a media blitz that included pretending to enjoy beer with leftist “comedian” Stephen Colbert.

Amid a flurry of terrible interviews, one stood out from the rest solely because of how it appeared to be Harris’ “Let them eat cake” moment. Instead of putting aside vapid campaign appearances to focus on the suffering of Americans in hurricane-ravaged states, Harris was seen laughing and joking with “The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert as the pair awkwardly sipped Miller High Life beers.
She shared two images from that appearance in a post on X, captioning it: “Cheers.”

In normal times, a presidential candidate awkwardly drinking beer with a comedian would just be seen as a poorly-done effort to connect with voters that is worthy of a few chuckles — but during a serious crisis, this is seen more as a slap in the face to Americans. Or, as the Daily Wire put it, “just the latest in a series of politically tone-deaf moves.”
Social media users were quick to respond to the tone-deaf moment, with many users pointing out that even President Joe Biden has more tact despite clearly suffering from cognitive decline.
