Journalist and podcast host Tim Pool has announced his plan to file a defamation lawsuit against the Kamala Harris campaign for telling “egregious” lies about him on social media after she posted an out-of-context clip and blatantly lied that he was calling for the death penalty for Democrats.
The clip of Pool came from an episode of his “Timcast IRL” show on YouTube featuring conservative journalist Laura Loomer. The full show was taken down off of YouTube after Loomer advocated for people convicted of treason to face the legal punishment for treason, the death penalty. While Pool strongly opposes the death penalty in all cases because he does not trust the government to get every case right, he did not remove the show because of his opposition — he took the show down mid-stream because YouTube could have taken down his channel for the comments, stripping him of a week’s worth of revenue due to penalties.
The official KamalaHQ account on X shared the clip, along with outrageous lies about the episode.
“Trump operatives say their Project 2025 plan is to give Trump total, unchecked legal power so they can jail and execute those who don’t support Trump if he wins,” Kamala Harris’ campaign wrote, adding: “They have since scrubbed this video from YouTube.”

First, as Loomer later noted in a post, there are zero mentions of Project 2025 in the episode. Second, Loomer was advocating for a legal process to take place to charge and convict Democrats who are found to have committed treason, and for those who are convicted to face the lawful punishment, the death penalty — there was not even a hint of calling for “those who don’t support Trump” to face any repercussions whatsoever. Third, the video was not “scrubbed” from YouTube to cover anything up, as the Harris campaign suggested. Plus, the full episode is still available to the public on Rumble Video, but cannot be shown on YouTube due to the platform’s censorious rules.
This is a lie.
The words Project 2025 were not mentioned once during this episode.

Pool responded to the Harris campaign’s shocking lies in a post on X, writing: “I have engaged legal counsel. We are preparing to take action. More to come.”

Pool further addressed the pending legal action in a fiery video on his YouTube channel on Tuesday morning.
“I feel that the lies from the Kamala campaign have become so shockingly, shockingly egregious, they strike at the conscience of any good, rational American,” he explained.
“We are preparing a lawsuit against the Kamala Harris campaign due to a defamatory statement posted on X which is extreme, egregious, and I just got to say, outright psychotic in accusing me, me personally, as well as Laura Loomer, but we are two separate individuals, of calling for unchecked legal power so that they, meaning Trump and his allies, can jail and execute anyone who doesn’t support Trump if he wins, which is a shocking and egregious lie that goes so far beyond the pale. I, well, I just can’t even. It’s shocking and downright insane,” Pool continued.
He went on to explain that he is not “a Trump operative” and has never been paid by or worked for the Trump campaign, and is not associated in any way with the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, which also has nothing to do with former President Donald Trump.
“Though I’ve interviewed some of the people who are associated with Project 2025 and have been involved, Timcast is not, has not, and will not be a part of or in any way related to Project 2025, nor have I ever called for anyone to have unchecked legal authority.”
He also explained his opposition to the death penalty “in every circumstance,” noting: “I do not trust the government to decide who gets to live and die, and I will never support the death penalty or any type of executions. For that matter, the clip in question posted by the Kamala campaign was literally me arguing against the idea of the death penalty, telling Laura Loomer that she was wrong. Individuals did not commit treason, more likely sedition.”
Pool concluded by confirming that his “intention is to immediately file a lawsuit and approach every legally correct avenue to do that, and so I will stress one more time. So far, I’ve contacted my legal counsel. We have discussed the issue at length. We intend to file a lawsuit. The reason why I say intend is I’m not, I’m not exactly sure I’m not a lawyer myself. All I can do is inform you that I have, we have begun this process, and I fully intend to see it taken to this degree.”
