Kamala Slammed For First Policy Proposal: ‘Soviet’ Style Price Controls

Kamala ‘Soviet’ Style Platform

After 25 days of having zero policies listed on her website, Vice President Kamala Harris finally announced her own policy proposal — price controls that critics say resemble the Soviet Union’s disastrous policies.

In the more than three weeks since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed Harris, the vice president has been avoiding several important parts of campaigning: doing interviews, giving unscripted press conferences, and giving voters a campaign platform of policies she would enact as president.

Finally, Harris plans to announce her first official policies on Friday — which include government price controls to address inflation, a policy that has led to scarcity and famine in places like the Soviet Union.

After helping create the inflation crisis by casting the tie-breaking votes in the Senate on Biden’s so-called “American Rescue Plan” and the incorrectly named “Inflation Reduction Act,” Harris is following in Biden’s footsteps by trying to blame government-caused inflation on “corporate greed” — which the Daily Wire characterized as “a cynical and dishonest ploy designed to take advantage of people’s emotions who do not understand the root cause of inflation.”

In a post on X, far-left NBC News reporter Yamiche Alcindor revealed that Harris plans to impose “the first-ever federal ban on corporate price-gouging” on grocers.

According to the Harris campaign, this ban will “impose stiff penalties in the food industry.”

This isn’t actually the first policy proposal Harris put forward, though it is her first original proposal, as her first was “no tax on tips” — which she stole from her opponent, former President Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, the socialist price control policy was widely criticized on social media, with many drawing comparisons to the Soviet Union’s price controls that temporarily slowed price increases but ultimately led to severe shortages of food and other goods.

“Kamala Harris is literally proposing price controls on food,” RealClearPolitics senior writer Mark Hemingway wrote in a post on X. “This is literally what the Soviets did and the results will be scarcity and higher costs.”

Helen Raleigh, an immigrant from communist China, also called out the dangerous policy.

“Government-imposed price control is a terrible idea because it makes the economy worse by causing shortages,” she wrote. “Everyone who survived socialism/communism knows this: if the store shelves are empty, it doesn’t matter how low the government claims the price of bread is.”

“So Kamala Harris is going to (pretend to) counter the high prices (she caused) by instituting some kind of communist government price controls on grocery stores. Absurd,” wrote Republican commentator Matt Whitlock.

“So instead of dealing with the actual sources of inflation, the Harris plan is going to be to continue to pretend price increases are a result of price gouging in an industry with razor thin margins,” wrote AG Hamilton.
