Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) Assistant Chief Kristine Larson made a shocking statement, claiming that any man who would need her to rescue him — which is literally the job of a firefighter — has “got himself in the wrong place if I have to carry him out.”
The assistant chief, who has bragged about being a lesbian and reportedly makes $399,000 a year, is known for pushing out former LAFD Chief Ralph Terrazas after accusing him of ignoring complaints from women in the fire department.
DEI: Statistically, there is ZERO chance that the three very best candidates for LAFD fire chief would all be lesbians.

In the now-viral video, Larson whined about men who are concerned about the ability of a woman to carry a man out of a fire — claiming that any man who needed her to rescue him had “got himself in the wrong place.” She also falsely claimed that the top priority of victims in emergencies is to see that their rescuer “looks like” them, rather than seeing that they are actually capable of rescuing them.
“You want to see somebody that responds to your house, your emergency — whether it’s a medical call or a fire call — that looks like you,” Larson falsely claimed. “It gives that person a little more ease, knowing that somebody might understand their situation better. ‘Is she strong enough to do this?’ Or ‘You couldn’t carry my husband out of a fire.’ Which my response is, ‘He got himself in the wrong place if I have to carry him out of a fire.’”

Larson has been at the center of controversy for some time, as she has consistently focused on “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” (DEI) over actual substance. She, along with other female firefighters and outside coalitions, demanded in 2021 that then-Mayor Eric Garcetti fire then-Fire Chief Ralph Terrazas — claiming that the LAFD under his leadership was guilty of “rampant sexism, racism and abuse in the ranks that women and minorities routinely face.”
The diversity hire assistant fire chief was also a founding member of the “Equity on Fire” coalition, and also served as president of Los Angeles Women in the Fire Service.
In her criticism of the LAFD, Larson claimed that they “have a history of doing bad things to people who report abuses in this organization. … The deep-seated tradition of not ‘ratting’ people out — if that’s what you want to call it — keeps people in fear of not saying anything, and that’s the culture we have to change. If you’re being discriminated against, you should be able to make a complaint, have it validated and have that individual punished. That’s not what’s happening, because people are too afraid to say anything, and they suffer in silence for it.”
