Longtime Democrat news anchor Katie Couric shredded Vice President Kamala Harris in a post-mortem for the 2024 presidential election — berating her for refusing to answer even the simplest questions: “Answer the goddamn question please!”
Speaking with MSNBC host and former White House press secretary Jen Psaki, Couric noted that despite the fact that she liked Harris, she was frustrated by the failed Democrat presidential candidate’s inability to answer even the most basic questions on the campaign trail.
On an episode of Couric’s “Next Question” podcast, the pair discussed President-elect Donald Trump’s landslide victory in both the Electoral College and the popular vote, expressing frustration that Harris lost because she failed to talk to the voters about the issues and where she stands on them.
Psaki highlighted the fact that Harris only did a few interviews while campaigning, most of which were with friendly outlets or media personalities — noting that she failed to actually reach the voters that she needed to convince, as she only did interviews with audiences that were already supporting her.

“And that means doing all of the things, including with people you disagree with, who are gonna be tough,” the MSNBC host explained, adding that candidates needed to be “fearless,” while also giving Harris some credit for agreeing to the interview with Fox News anchor Bret Baier.
Of course, Couric made sure to couch her criticism by claiming that she believed that Harris had done some things very well, but ultimately refused to answer important questions during every single interview — which did not convince voters that she was capable of doing the job of president.
“Like, if she was asked about changing the Supreme Court at that CNN town hall — she had an opportunity to talk about ethics and what, you know, [Justice Samuel] Alito and [Justice] Clarence Thomas were doing. And, she answered like in one sentence and like went on to something that had nothing to do with the question,” Couric said, adding, “It’s like, answer the goddamn question please!”
“I mean… yeah,” Psaki agreed while laughing.
