This report will probably surprise few people.
I say this because most of you reading this believe the government is just as corrupt as I do.
Would it surprise you to know that Special Counsel Jack Smith was tied to the previous IRS scandal involving Lois Lerner?
It’s All Rigged
If you recall, Lerner is the director of the IRS’s Exempt Organizations Unit.
She was behind the IRS effort to target conservative groups.
The case that blew this wide open was the targeting of several Tea Party groups and conservative non-profits.
Republicans later discovered the Jack Smith was neck-deep in that scandal.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) stated, “Jack Smith was looking for ways to prosecute the innocent Americans that Lois Lerner targeted during the IRS scandal.”

Jordan and Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) further stated, “It is apparent that the Department’s leadership, including Public Integrity Section Chief Jack Smith, was closely involved in engaging with the IRS.”
Smith’s role was spurred on by a newspaper article that he read.
After reading the report, Smith reached out to his DOJ colleagues, writing, “Check out [the] article on front page of ny times regarding misuse of nonprofits for indirectly funding campaigns.
“This seems egregious to me — could we ever charge a [18 U.S.C. §] 371 conspiracy to violate laws of the USA for misuse of such non profits to get around existing campaign finance laws + limits? … IRS Commissioner sarah ingram oversees these groups.
“Let’s discuss tomorrow but maybe we should try to set up a meeting.”
After the scandal, an internal investigation by the DOJ found, “Our investigation uncovered substantial evidence of mismanagement, poor judgment, and institutional inertia.”
And this is the man Merrick Garland put in charge of investigating Trump… the deck is stacked.
