Actor and model Moses J. Mosely, known for his role in The Walking Dead, has been found dead at age 31. Moseley’s body was discovered on January 26th in the Hudson Bridge section of Stobridge, Georgia. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. However, sources later told TMZ that they are investigating his death as a potential suicide. Mosely’s family told reporters that they hadn’t had word from Moses since Jan. 23rd, they reached out to local hospitals to try to find him, but he couldn’t be located.

A Rising Actor Mysteriously Gone Too Soon

Come Wednesday the 26th Mosely’s family filed a missing person’s report with the police and reached out to OnStar to locate Moses’ vehicle where his body was discovered. According to reporters from TMZ, an unnamed family member told them Moses died of a gunshot wound, however it is unclear if it was self-inflicted or not.

“He was loved by everyone who met him. Such a bright light in everyone’s eyes,” Mosely’s manager, Tabitha Minchew said.

ImageMosely was born in Aiken, South Carolina, and modeled for over a decade before making a splash acting. He seemed to catch his big break as one of the harnessed zombies employed by fan-favorite Walking Dead character Michonne. The role netted him a cover shot on Entertainment Weekly and even a 2017 interview with Horror News, where Mosely was fulsome in his praise for his audience and the entire team at Walking Dead.

“I just want to say thank you guys so much for all your support,” Mosley said . “All the love that you give to the show, the actors, the directors, and the crew that helped create it. I hope you guys continually watch it over and over again. Just thank you so much for all your love and support. It means the world and without you guys we are nothing.”

Moses had netted a few minor roles in Joyful Noise, Trouble with the Curve, The Internship, and The Hunger Games: Catching Firebut by 2019 his gigs seemed to be winding down with small roles in Watchmen, Queen of the South, and American Soul. In 2021 he appeared in a single episode of BET’s Tales. Many burgeoning actors have found themselves in difficulty in the post-COVID panic world, unfortunately, we’ll never know what Moses could’ve parlayed his previous successes to. A young talented actor is gone, tragically and mysteriously too soon.
