Gov Newsom Pummels Small Child [Video]

California Governor Gavin Newsom is no stranger to controversy, as we’re all well aware. And his recent trip to the country of China was no different, as it certainly caused quite a bit of uproar.

A video of Newsom running over a Chinese child while playing pickup basketball during his visit has gone viral on social media and drawn criticism from Republicans. The footage shows Newsom showing off his ball handling skills before making a move toward the basket and running right through one of the children attempting to defend him.

According to an RNC Research spokesperson who shared the clip, it happened at Yuying School in Beijing during Newsom’s week-long trip. The school is a public school where he visited “to see farm-to-school and other agricultural science programs in China.”

After tumbling to the ground with the young boy, Newsom wrapped him in a bear hug and playfully patted his back as they got up.

Earlier in the week prior to the incident, Newsom told reporters that he was visiting China for “turning the page,” which meant renewing relationships between both countries “[on] foundational and fundamental issues that will determine our collective faith in the future.” In addition, at a press conference after meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping on Wednesday, October 25, he said that they discussed ways “to accelerate our progress on climate in meaningful and substantive ways,” according to CBS news reports.

They also talked about fentanyl trafficking from China into North America – an issue responsible for killing thousands of people each year in America alone.

Given that this all took place during his trip overseas, many Republicans have been outraged by what was seen as an irresponsible act by one of their political opponents. On top of this, some are using it as another excuse to attack policies surrounding immigration or other issues connected with foreign relations such as trade deals or security matters related to China itself.
