On January 20th in the late-night hours when Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer led a desperate political maneuver to destroy the filibuster, and render the Senate forever irrelevant as a last-ditch effort to save his party by hijacking and federalizing our electoral laws from the states two of his Democrats stood and thwarted him: Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema. While this in no way makes either of them Republicans or Conservatives whom we should laud for their policies or simpatico values(for most of us there are none), it was proper and appropriate for Republicans in the Senate to shake hands with them and give some (limited) thanks for doing the right thing. However, inevitably the leftist Twitterati were incensed and wrathful, and even the higher ranking and better known so-called ‘academics’ couldn’t resist indulging their baser instincts, calling for censure, rejection, and even violence against them or death.

The Wrath And Incitement To Violence of Reich

In a now-deleted tweet, Former Clinton Labor Secretary and unhinged leftist Democrat-Socialist radical Robert Reich posted “Tonight, Republican senators lined up to shake Kyrsten Sinema’s hand. Democratic senators should have given her the backs of their hands.” Only to hide behind an anachronistic definition of the idiom in a double entendre of convenience. The response from conservatives and libertarians online was immediate and harsh.

According to Fox News,

“National Review’s Charles Cooke said Reich’s remark was tantamount to saying Sinema “must be slapped around by her party if she fails to follow the demands of a white man.”

“No big deal,” tweeted radio host Larry O’Connor. “Just Democrat/Socialist icon [Robert Reich] encouraging violence against a female senator who didn’t vote the way he wanted.”

What resulted was that Reich promptly deleted the tweet and blamed “the conservative media” for his tweet being “misinterpreted and distorted”.

Mind you that this is the exact same Robert Reich who scolded Republicans as being “actively opposed to ending the epidemic of violence against women in America.” after she accused a GOP Member of Congress of verbally accosting her. Reich added, “I implore all men to let this sink in, and ask yourself how you’re going to upend that power structure.”

Perhaps Mr. Reich should take his own advice and not advocate for backhanding a woman who doesn’t toe the line and do Chuck Schumer’s bidding. Some personal reflection might be in order, not desperately backpedaling and projecting your misogynistic, violent tendencies on your opponents.
