Father Arrested For Killing Predator Found With Daughter

An Arkansas father has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder for killing the sexual predator who stalked and kidnapped his 14-year-old daughter.

Aaron Spencer, the 36-year-old father, reported his daughter missing on October 8 — but he found her before police could. Spencer reportedly found his missing child in a vehicle with 67-year-old pedophile Michael Fosler — prompting a confrontation that led to Spencer shooting and killing the man.

Spencer’s wife, Heather, explained the situation in a Facebook post, revealing that Fosler was previously arrested in July for stalking and raping her 14-year-old daughter last summer and was charged with internet stalking of a child and sexual assault. However, for some reason, the judge in the case let him walk free on bail.

“This man had a no contact order for stalking/graping (sic) our child,” Heather Spencer wrote in the Facebook post.

She went on to note that “we absolutely called 911 during the entire event,” but her family “had no idea this man was in contact with our child again.”

“He was waiting 6-9 felonies for what he did, not 2. He was looking at the rest of his pathetic life in jail, and our daughter was the only witness,” she added.

Heather Spencer also discussed her frustration with how the stalking and rape case was handled by authorities, writing: “Some things we will never know, but we know that the police department afforded this predator privacy they did not give our family. Including posting our home address. I’m deeply offended by the way this was handled by the county [sheriff’s] office.”

“At the end of the day, our daughter is a victim and we have a long road of recovery for everyone. We are so thankful for all the calls, messages and prayers,” she added.

Aaron Spencer has since been arrested on a preliminary charge of first-degree murder for shooting and killing the man who allegedly kidnapped his child after already stalking and raping her. He was released on bail after being booked in the Lonoke County Detention Center. According to Sheriff John Staley, formal charges have not been filed and the district attorneys office is still trying to figure out which charges to file.

“This is a tragic situation, and my thoughts and prayers are with all involved,” Staley said.

“When we get on scene and there’s a homicide, it means one person took the life of another,” Staley explained. “It’s either justified or not justified. That’s what the fact finding, that’s what the investigation is going to find out.”

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe fundraiser for Spencer’s legal defense was flooded with more than $100,000 in donations — though GoFundMe shockingly decided to shut down the fundraiser for the father, citing its policy against raising money for legal defense of violent crimes.

“Our GoFundMe me was removed and people are being issued refunds,” Heather Spencer explained. “If you donated I apologize I have no idea why this is happening.”

She then opened a GiveSendGo account for her husband, but the account is now closed and shows the following message: “Words cannot express how deeply appreciative we are for the support coming in all over the world. We have reached far beyond our goal in less than a week. The rest of our fundraising will be done through Gun Owners of Arkansas and will be pinned across all socials. Update will follow soon. Please continue to share our story far and wide. Thank you and God bless you all.”

The nonprofit Gun Owners of Arkansas now controls the fundraiser for Spencer, but it is not clear how much money has been raised for the father.

“After conducting research and reviewing the circumstances surrounding the incident involving Mr. Aaron Spencer, Gun Owners of Arkansas has concluded that he was justified in his actions under Arkansas Self Defense Law, despite being preliminarily charged with first-degree murder,” the group said. “We have mobilized our Defense Fund Account to support a fellow gun owner.”
