In yet another example of the Harris campaign attempting to use a celebrity to convince people to watch one of her events, viewers of the Democrat National Convention (DNC) are outraged that they were lied to — as they were promised an appearance by Beyoncé and viewers are now convinced that it was done on purpose to pad her viewership numbers and increase DNC attendance.

Vice President Kamala Harris’ short campaign has already been full of ridiculous gimmicks to increase attendance at her rallies, including an appearance by Megan Thee Stallion.

Of course, it was apparent that many of the attendees of that Georgia rally were only there for the free concert, as footage showed many leaving the event as Harris started speaking.

The DNC apparently wanted to take advantage of the fact that many Americans would attend or watch their convention simply because of the star power of special guests, as reports began swirling that superstar Beyoncé would be performing on the last night of the event, coincidentally the same night when the deeply unpopular Democrat presidential nominee would be speaking. While those rumors did not come directly from the DNC, they did come from left-leaning outlets like TMZ.

“Beyoncé Performing at DNC’s Final Night!!!” read a TMZ headline, citing multiple sources with knowledge of the matter who claimed that the singer would be a “big surprise performer” at the event. Other outlets quickly ran with the story, spreading the lie far and wide to rope in more viewers for the DNC.

TMZ later admitted that its report was wrong, writing: “To quote the great Beyonce: We gotta lay our cards down, down, down … we got this one wrong.”

Many videos from the event showed confused attendees still waiting for Beyoncé to perform after the speakers had finished, while several reporters noted that they had personally heard attendees complaining about the lies.

“Hearing lots of ‘But where is Beyoncé ?!’ leaving the DNC,” conservative blogger and author Katie Pavlich wrote in a post on X.

The lie had its desired effect, as leftist propaganda outlets were happy to report that Harris’ speech had a more viewers than former President Donald Trump’s acceptance speech at the RNC.

Social media users were quick to call out the propaganda, with one popular X account declaring the reports to be “hilarious!”

“People stayed tuned in to the end of Kamala Harris’s speech thinking they’d see Beyoncé. The Democrats and media totally played them, just so the next day they can claim that she is more popular than Trump,” the post from “I Meme Therefore I Am” continued.

Meanwhile, Beyoncé fans were outraged that they had been lied to and took to social media to express their anger.

“After watching the #DNC2024 #DNCConvention Thursday, and hearing Kamala Harris speak, my thoughts are… Where was Beyoncé?” one user lamented. “Democrats said Beyoncé and/or Taylor Swift would be at the #DNC, disappointing conclusion after being teased with promises of quality entertainment. #Fail.”

“Boy, that was fast. They went from joy to the world to lying about Beyoncé. But then again, lying is what they do,” another user wrote.

“I WANNA FIGHT WHOEVER STARTED THAT BEYONCE RUMOR,” another wrote, adding, “Abolish TMZ.”

“You needed to lie about Beyoncé to get people to watch this crap,” another X user wrote, responding to a left-wing podcaster who claimed: “We didn’t need Beyonce. We had Kamala.”

“F—ing liars,” another comment read. “All over the news today they said there is going to be a special guest, Probably Beyonce or Taylor Swift….. They lied to get people to watch…. Just proves they lie about everything… scumbags.”

“The DNC deliberately put out the rumor that Beyonce was gonna perform at the #DNCConvention2024 so that people would tune in, knowing that she was never booked to perform,” film producer Tariq Nasheed argued.

“I could see two scenarios. 1. TMZ caught up trying to break news. 2. TMZ coordinating with certain parties to share this news in hopes to drive viewership. Both are problematic,” another user wrote.
