Disgraced former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) was given a Presidential Citizens Medal and social media is outraged over President Joe Biden’s decision.
On Thursday, the Biden administration announced that it would be giving out 20 Presidential Citizens Medals, with one going to Cheney — who was voted out of office in a stunning defeat after betraying her constituents on numerous occasions. Cheney lost by nearly 40 points to current Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-WY) after she sided with Democrats on numerous important bills, voted twice to impeach President Donald Trump, spent all of her time attacking Trump and his supporters, and helped lead the shockingly corrupt House January 6 Committee.
Of course, her work on the committee — which has been proven to be corrupt and to have violated the law on numerous occasions — is exactly why Biden is “honoring” her with the Presidential Citizens Medal.
“Throughout two decades in public service, including as a congresswoman for Wyoming and vice chair of the committee on the Jan. 6 attack, Liz Cheney has raised her voice — and reached across the aisle — to defend our nation and the ideals we stand for: Freedom. Dignity. And decency,” the White House wrote in a statement. “Her integrity and intrepidness remind us all what is possible if we work together.”
In reality, Cheney has been caught tampering with witnesses and deleting evidence that would have exonerated Trump — meaning that she is far from a defender of “freedom” or “decency.”
Thus, critics slammed Biden for his outrageous decision to honor the disgraced former congresswoman, with The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway writing: “President Biden rewards Liz Cheney for her witness tampering and obstruction of justice in the J6 show trial she ran. Discrediting to everyone.”

Paul Szypula pointed out that Cheney and her ally Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) — who also committed crimes as part of the January 6 Committee — were being rewarded by Biden “for their fraudulent and criminal work.”
“Both members allegedly destroyed evidence and Cheney tampered with at least one witness. Thompson and Cheney belong in jail,” he added.

“Absolutely disgusting. Who wants to bet she’ll get a pardon next?” Nick Sortor asked, referring to Cheney. “This medal is SUPPOSED to be for those who perform ‘exemplary deeds for their country or citizens,’ but of course, Biden decided to award it to a woman who tried to do his political dirty work.”

Even some Democrats are calling out the ridiculous award, with liberal journalist Glenn Greenwald pointing out that Biden’s decision “says so much about the value system of the Democratic Party.”
He further pointed out that Biden’s praise of Cheney is “even more telling,” as she is still “an advocate still of countless views liberals denounce as fascist” — but is getting an award solely because she hates Trump as much as Biden and his leftist allies do.
“Liz Cheney was and is a vocal advocate of the Iraq war, occupation of Afghanistan, regime change wars in Syria and Libya, and – oh yeah – torture, Guantanamo, rendition, warrantless spying, and every War on Terror abuse,” Greenwald added in a follow-up tweet, noting that despite all of these abhorrent beliefs, Democrats claim that Cheney “dedicated her career to freedom and decency.”
