Democrats are being ridiculed for building a literal wall around the venue for the Democrat National Convention (DNC) in Chicago.
As tens of thousands of far-left activists descend upon Chicago to protest the DNC, the Democrat-controlled city has begun preparing for violent and destructive riots. The riots are expected to be so bad that even business owners in the area have begun boarding up their storefronts with plywood barriers.
According to business owner Scott Shapiro, many shops are getting proactive in addressing the expected riots because they’d rather “be safe than sorry.”
“It’s better to be safe than sorry. Most retailers are eternal optimists. They always think tomorrow is going to be better than today, and you always hope for the best, but it doesn’t always work out that way,” Shapiro, who had to rebuild his store after it was destroyed during the 2020 George Floyd riots, added.
“As we know, this city has a poor track record when it comes to protecting businesses,” he told WLS-TV.
Local businesses aren’t the only ones bracing for riots, as the Democrats have built a wall of fencing around the venue where the DNC is taking place.

Critics ruthlessly ridiculed the Democrats over the wall, pointing to the left’s past insistence that former President Donald Trump’s border wall was a waste of time and money because it wouldn’t actually keep people out.

“I thought walls were monuments to white supremacy,” one user wrote, tagging a ridiculous Bloomberg article titled “This Isn’t a Border Wall: It’s a Monument to White Supremacy.”
The article’s absurd tagline reads: “Like Confederate monuments, President Trump’s vision of a massive wall along the Mexican border is about propaganda and racial oppression, not national security.”

Radical anti-Israel activists already breached the wall as of early Monday evening, though police quickly ushered them back and fixed the wall — but the breach was likely a bad omen of more destruction to come.

Along with their hypocritical wall, Democrats have also implemented ID checks to get into the venue and canceled many police officers’ days off ahead of the convention, with reports indicating that many officers will be forced to work overtime to protect convention attendees from the mob of radical extremists that they have brought to the city.
Speaking to the Chicago Sun Times, Police Union leader John Catanzara warned that canceling time off will destroy morale, especially ahead of such a high-stress event — calling it “a recipe for disaster.”
