In the face of chaos and devastation from the Israel-Hamas conflict, one congressman has stepped forward to extend a helping hand. His selflessness and courage serve as an excellent example for our country.
Cory Mills, a US Congressman from Florida and decorated combat veteran, recently traveled to Israel in response to an ongoing war that has left many American citizens stranded in the region.
In response to this crisis, Congressman Mills took swift action and flew overnight to Israel despite security concerns. His goal was two-fold: firstly, he wanted to show solidarity with the Israeli people and secondly, he wanted to help evacuate Americans who had been caught in the midst of this devastating attack.
Prior to being elected into Congress, Mills had already demonstrated great bravery when he chartered a plane in 2021 from Afghanistan when the Biden administration withdrew—an operation that almost resulted in him being shot down by US forces.

This week it was reported that armed drones belonging to Hezbollah were invading northern parts of Israel from Lebanon—a move which could possibly cause a multi-front war for Israel. Numerous alerts were triggered as a result and while there have yet to be any confirmations by The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), cautionary steps have still been taken within Beirut where The United States embassy has denied rumors that it will be evacuated soon.
This invasion marks a significant shift because Hezbollah emerged during times when Israel was occupying Southern Lebanon back in the early 1980s and since then they’ve grown both politically and militarily with support from Iran who view them as allies against their enemies in the Middle East region.
It is not only commendable but necessary that someone like Cory Mills takes on such courageous efforts as an American citizen abroad during times like these where there is so much unrest throughout various regions around us.
His military background certainly helps him navigate through such situations more effectively but regardless it takes great strength and dedication to leave one’s comfort zone behind for something greater than oneself.
