Conservatives are demanding an apology from the left and the media after Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) revealed that the 33 “bomb threats” made against schools in Springfield “have all been hoaxes” that originated from overseas.
In the weeks since conservatives have been drawing attention to the roughly 20,000 Haitian illegal aliens forced upon the town of Springfield, Ohio, Democrats have been repeatedly attacking the GOP, especially former President Donald Trump and his running mate Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) — claiming that they were “targeting migrants” and that their supposedly “hateful rhetoric” would put the community in danger. The left’s attacks on Republicans have been exacerbated by reports of 33 bomb threats made against Springfield schools and businesses, leading to claims that these threats were caused by simply pointing out the violent crime and other problems caused by the influx of illegal aliens.
However, DeWine revealed during a press conference on Monday that every single one of the bomb threats originated from overseas and they were all confirmed to be “hoaxes.”
“At least 33 separate bomb threats, each one of which has been responded to, and each one of whom has been found as a hoax,” DeWine explained. “So, 33 threats, 33 hoaxes. I want to make that very, very clear. None of these had any validity at all.”
“So, I want to say to the parents in Springfield: These threats have all been hoaxes. None of them have panned out,” the Ohio governor added.
DeWine went on to point out that these hoaxes came from “overseas” — expressing his belief that “one particular country” has been using the recent news out of Springfield as “one more opportunity to mess with the United States.”
“We have people, unfortunately, overseas, who are taking these actions,” the Ohio governor continued. “Some of them are coming from one particular country. We think that this is one more opportunity to mess with the United States, and they’re continuing to do that.”

Following DeWine’s announcement, pressure has been mounting for the mainstream media to apologize to Trump and Vance for trying to blame them for the bomb threats.
“So the leftwing media spent the last week playing into the hands of foreign adversaries to weaponize misinformation and hoaxes to falsely smear @realDonaldTrump and @JDVance for inciting violence,” Donald Trump Jr. reacted in a post on X.
He went on to specifically call out CNN anchor Dana Bash, NBC anchor Lester Holt, and one of the Democrat propagandists who moderated last week’s Trump-Harris debate, ABC’s Linsey Davis.
“If you have any decency you’ll apologize: @DanaBashCNN @LesterHoltNBC @LinseyDavis,” Trump Jr. concluded.

Conservative commentator Greg Price also responded to the news, pointing out that the mainstream media have been telling the American people “that JD Vance’s cat memes were responsible for this.”

Price also shared a clip of CNN’s Dana Bash telling Vance during an interview that the threats were his fault.
“She owes him an apology,” he wrote.
Reminder that @DanaBashCNN straight up told @JDVance yesterday that he caused the bomb threats against the schools in Springfield.

“The media has spent a week weaponizing hoaxes and disinformation, playing directly into the hands of an apparent foreign campaign to interfere in our election and benefit Democrats,” another user wrote. “Every single reporter/outlet engaged in peddling this propaganda should retract and apologize!”
