Bloody photos have begun to emerge from Afghanistan, showing that Joe Biden‘s disastrous withdrawal from the country has had a serious impact on women’s rights.
Somehow, the Biden administration expected that the Taliban would respect women’s rights.
A joint statement was issued by the State Department and 46 other countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, and the European Union, which asked the Taliban to “guarantee” the protection of women in Afghanistan.
“We are deeply worried about Afghan women and girls, their rights to education, work and freedom of movement. We call on those in positions of power and authority across Afghanistan to guarantee their protection,” the statement read.
“Afghan women and girls, as all Afghan people, deserve to live in safety, security and dignity. Any form of discrimination and abuse should be prevented. We in the international community stand ready to assist them with humanitarian aid and support, to ensure that their voices can be heard,” the statement continued.
“We will monitor closely how any future government ensures rights and freedoms that have become an integral part of the life of women and girls in Afghanistan during the last twenty years,” the document concluded.
The statement came soon after images emerged showing Afghan women and children beaten bloody and unconscious in attacks from the Taliban.
“There was kids, women, babies, old women, they could barely walk,” an Afghan and former State Department contractor told Fox News. “They [are in a] very, very bad situation, I’m telling you. At the end, I was thinking that there was like 10,000 or more than 10,000 people, and they’re running into the airport … The Taliban [were] beating people and the people were jumping from the fence, the concertina wire, and also the wall.”
Other reports have revealed that the Taliban executed a 21 year old woman for being outside in “tight clothes” and for not being accompanied by a male relative.
According to reporting from The Daily Wire, “Between 1996 to 2001 when the Taliban controlled Afghanistan, they enforced their brutal interpretation of Sharia law, barring women and girls from receiving an education and working jobs, and requiring that women wear a burqa and be accompanied by a male relative when in public. Women who failed to comply were publicly whipped or executed.”
This time the Taliban were a bit smarter, trying to play to the left’s woke narrative by claiming that they will be more tolerant and respect “women’s rights,” within Sharia law. Obviously, women’s rights and Sharia law are diametrically opposed to one another, so this claim was a blatant lie.
Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley warned on Twitter that the Taliban’s promises were not legitimate.
“The Taliban makes false promises of being ‘inclusive’ and upholding women’s rights, while at the same time beating protesters and firing into crowds of civilians. Don’t be fooled, they are [a] brutal terrorist organization,” Haley wrote in a tweet.
