Biden Makes a Tough Decision…and Loses BIG

Joe Biden had a very tough decision to make.

Side with the union and allow the economy to be crushed or break the union and risk losing their support.

Biden chose the latter, and now a significant chunk of the railway unions are walking away from him.

True Colors

Joe Biden loves to tout himself as a union man, only he has never had to face the crippling reality of what a union strike can do that would directly impact him.

As president, a rail strike would have devastated our economy, so Biden took away their leverage and forced a contract through Congress.

Well, that is not sitting well with union leaders of the four unions that did not want to ratify that last contract.

Clark Ballew, the director of communications for the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Division (BMWED), stated, “You can damn well bet that railroaders took note of who stood with us and who failed to support the basic common decency of paid sick days.”

A rail worker who spoke on the condition of anonymity went a bit further, stating, “This will definitely have an effect on the next elections, I think, because Biden’s slowly showing the true colors.

“I’ve always known he is only looking for votes, but several unions and members are just now realizing that.

“If he really cared, wanted to show that he cared about the work that we’re doing and some of the sacrifices we have had to make, he should have stayed out of this or fought harder.

“I didn’t want a strike, I know how bad it would be for the economy, but right is right and we need the sick leave days.

“The unions and rail companies have got to figure out how to work together on this sorta thing.

“This isn’t for Congress to decide.

“Whether you’re for unions or not, we railroad workers should not have to continue the harsh conditions we are subjected to. Paid sick leave is a simple ask.

“For Congress not to be able to reach an agreement for some of the hardest-working people I know is just sad.

“I appreciate those that stand up for us, though, and even voted in support of sick days to be included.”

Without union money, Democrats are dead in the water.

Talk is cheap, however, so we will see where that union money starts to land in 2024.

Aside from the money, I am really curious to see the reaction when Biden speaks in front a union house and touts himself as a man loyal to unions his entire career.

Unions are all about leverage, and Biden stripped it away… that is something that he simply cannot deny.
