Joe Biden doesn’t actually make policy decisions, his handlers tell him what they are, then hope he can read the cue cards without falling asleep in the middle. The ones currently mismanaging the Department of Homeland Security are upset that the governor and mayor of New York are talking trash about them.

Biden regime ‘pushes back’

On Monday, August 28, the Biden regime “pushed back” at “criticism that it hasn’t done enough to help New York address its migrant crisis.” Then, they pointed out “two dozen areas where the city can strengthen its migrant operations” without bothering the feds any further. It’s not their problem that Congress won’t re-write the laws to be more progressive.

Alejandro Mayorkas can’t read the laws anyway and when his staff tries to explain what they say, he gets a headache, so just ignores it all. History will justify his actions, he hopes. After all, Merrick Garland says it’s okay and he really runs the country.

Left-leaning Politico got their hands on a pair of letters sent off by USPS to Mayor Eric Adams and Governor Kathy Hochul. In them, Alejandro Mayorkas is throwing a snit fit about how they’re whining about “not getting more help from the federal government.” They think Joe Biden can just print more money or something.

Mayorkas doesn’t have much to actually tell them. That’s because according to his plan, every migrant from everywhere would have been granted amnesty by now. He can’t help it that Republicans control the House. They’re actually in the process of impeaching him because Congress won’t rewrite the law to validate his accomplishments to date.

Before you go begging Joe Biden for money, Mayorkas sneers, consider the “structural and operational issues” he found “during a week-long assessment of the city’s operations starting on August 7.” He didn’t actually give any specifics because they haven’t finished making it all up out of thin air yet. He did mention that the “structural issues include governance and organization of the migrant operations, including issues of authority, structure, personnel, and information flow.

On the operational side, “issues include the subjects of data collection, planning, case management, communications, and other aspects of day-to-day operations.” New York better get their bleep together, he declares. They need to suck it up and do their part for Agenda 2030.

Try talking to migrants

Sidestepping the issue of who’s going to pay for housing and feeding millions of migrants who aren’t allowed to actually work, the Biden regime official responsible for domestic security went on record to state “the recommendations to the city include improving data collection at intake, better communication with the migrants and bolstering information for the migrants regarding their ability to apply for work authorization and the need to apply for asylum.

The real problem is nobody can figure out what the paperwork says, much less fill it out. Filling it out properly is an entirely different level.

We are hopeful that our recommendations will equip the city to take additional steps to improve the migrant operations and maximize the value of our continued partnership and your support,” Mayorkas mused. Semantically parsed, that sentence says: We hope you’ll cover the gaps without bugging us for more money.

You can’t actually expect Joe Biden to take responsibility for inviting all these asylum seekers. That’s something that just happened spontaneously, all on its own. Not only that, Mayorkas has illegal immigration down to practically zero by simply calling them legal if they come through a door or make an appointment on an app.

Another thing that Mayorkas pointed out is that he graciously “provided access to a hangar at John F. Kennedy Airport and identified 11 federal sites across the state to house migrants.” The city, he points out, has only seen a measly “100,000 asylum-seekers over the past year.” He can’t believe “that has strained city services.

The city and state with the same name are both Democrat controlled jurisdictions. They’re supposed to simply drink the Kool-Aid from the party punch bowl and welcome each new batch of incoming asylees Joe Biden sends them with a smile, hot food from their native nation and an already completed Democrat voter registration application.
