Earlier this year, Bidne’s Department of Education made a rather bothersome proclamation.

Funding was going to be stripped from schools that offered hunting and archery classes.

After the Education Secretary made his announcement, there was pushback on both sides of the aisle.

That pushback turned into legislation that was almost unanimously passed in the House.

These are real-life skills and skills that we want our kids to learn when properly supervised.

That does not even take into account that shooting and archery are Olympic sports.

The DOE wanted to strip funding from schools citing that the classes used potentially dangerous weapons.

House members responded with the Protecting Hunting Heritage and Education Act, which passed 424-1.

Oddly enough, the only member who voted against the bill was from Texas, Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-TX).

Rep. Mark Green (R-TN) introduced the bill, stating, “Hunters and fishers are the best conservationists.

“Hunting, whether it be with a firearm or bow, is one of the most effective ways to control wildlife populations, protect our beautiful lands, and connect with nature.

“My Protecting Hunting Heritage and Education Act is critical for our children.”

We do not expect Biden to veto the legislation once it gets to his desk.
