This developing AI technology gets scarier by the day.

I will not deny the fact that AI can do some incredible things if used properly.

More recently, however, we are seeing how it can be used to hurt people, and this will be a problem moving forward.

Can’t Tell the Difference

Los Angeles-based video editor and political satirist Justin T. Brown is taking some heat for a series of photographs he published.

He says it was to raise awareness of how AI can be used to take down powerful figures, but not everyone is buying in.

In the photos, Brown used AI technology to create “cheating” photos of some of our more prominent politicians, including Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

Defending his pictures, Brown stated, “I created the series with the goal of dragging some of the most influential people in America into the conversation about the dangers of AI, and reach[ing] the biggest possible audience.”

Brown did make a very good point, stating, “An AI disinfo campaign just before election day could definitely swing an election.

“The right AI images or video at the right time could tank the market, cause a riot, or send someone into a pizza shop with a gun.”

We saw this play out in real time earlier this year when an account replicated a nereal-time and put out pictures of the Pentagon being attacked.

After the pictures were posted, and before anyone realized it was a fake account, the stock market took a significant hit.

This is clearly something we need to keep an eye on and must figure out a way to prevent something like this from impacting our elections.
