Joe Biden and his behavior have come under scrutiny many times and now Americans are appalled by his recent action that was shown through videos and photos.
Biden Under Fire… Again
Biden decided to withdraw American troops out of Afghanistan, and this allowed for the Taliban to quickly take over. Due to this, 13 American troops were killed in a terrorist attack while close to the Kabul airport. The president was blamed by some for these tragic deaths.
There was a ceremony in Delaware at the Dover Air Force Base and Biden and his wife Jill were in attendance. This was a “dignified transfer” ceremony which is a tradition of receiving the bodies of deceased soldiers who died while in foreign combat.
Death is an Inconvenience
The controversy arose when Biden appeared to look at his watch while family members mourned over their dead loved ones. Twitter erupted with angry veterans showing their disgust at the disrespectful move.
“Looks like he was being inconvenienced by having to show some respect for these American Heros [sic],” a disabled US Army veteran named Samuel Williams, said on Twitter.

Another user, columnist Nicholas Fondacaro wrote, “It’s true. Joe Biden checked his watch during the dignified transfer of the servicemembers killing in Afghanistan at the airport. You can see him jerk his left hand to pull the watch out from under his sleeve, then look down at it.”
Tragedy Possibly Avoidable
Former Governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee drew a comparison about George Bush checking his watch years ago.
“Many of us remember Pres Bush 41 checking his watch during a debate and how awful it looked (even though we all felt same way about that debate.) But this is shocking and will be remembered,” Huckabee said.
The tragic death of the 13 US service members was possibly preventable if the Commander-in-chief didn’t go against the recommendation of professionals when it came to abruptly withdraw from Afghanistan. Biden checking his watch did not help his already dwindling popularity.
