An American man has been sentenced to death in China after being convicted of fatally stabbing a 21-year-old woman who tried to break off their relationship. On April 21st, a court in east China, The Ningbo Intermediate People’s Court revealed that Shadeed Abdulmateen, a U.S. national has been sentenced to death under Chinese law for the 2021 murder of his former girlfriend. Despite the well-reported serious deficiencies of the Chinese justice system, Biden’s State Department has taken no action.
According to The South China Early Morning Article, Abdulmateen met the victim, referred to only by the surname Chen, in 2019 and also entered into a romantic relationship with her. When she attempted to break it off , Abdulmateen arranged to meet her at a bus stop in Ningbo, then stabbed her to death on the night of June 14, 2021, with a folding knife he had actually brought for the purpose of killing her, Xinhua claimed.
