Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) has announced that his administration would begin another border wall project in Starr County, as the Biden-Harris administration still refuses to secure the border — even though Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris has suddenly flip-flopped and claimed to support a border wall.

In a written statement, Abbott explained: “Until President Biden and Vice President Harris secure the border, Texas won’t back down from the fight to secure the border by building more miles of border wall. Texas is the ONLY state in U.S. history to build our own border wall.”

In January 2021, the Biden-Harris administration canceled the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s border wall construction projects that were approved by former President Donald Trump.

Suddenly, more than a month after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed Harris, she has reversed course on the issue despite spending her entire career in politics opposing border security.

In response to the cancelation of the border wall projects, Abbott demanded in June 2021 that the Biden-Harris administration return the land that the federal government had seized for construction of a border wall. Three months later, Texas began construction of state-funded border walls on private land with the land-owners’ approval. In September 2022, Abbott also ordered that the border wall construction canceled by the Biden-Harris administration be resumed.

Abbott explained the issue during a previous interview with Breitbart News, where he stated: “A lot of the border wall is being built by border wall material that there was a contract for, Texas bought it from contractors who built the wall for President Trump. We’re building the exact same wall.”

“We found a way, by going through the surplus program of the federal government where Texas would be able to obtain these border wall panels and we obtained as much as we could, until Biden found out about it,” he added.

The Biden-Harris administration responded to this interview by ordering the federal government to stop selling abandoned border wall materials to Texas, instead forcing taxpayers to fund the storage of the materials to the tune of roughly $6 million per day while abandoning the construction sites.

Regardless of the Biden-Harris administration’s stonewalling and flip-flopping on the issue, it appears that Texas is determined to act in the best interests of Americans when it comes to securing the southern border.
