Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) is among a group of Democrats that would love to see money taken from police departments and used elsewhere.
Be it a complete defunding or reallocation, Bush wants to crush policing as it is currently defined.
Yet, Bush has spent a small fortune making sure she has protection.
I’m Important, You are Not
I will be the first to admit, I do not believe one word this woman offers up to defend the fact she has spent $500,000 on personal security.
When asked to defend her spending, she stated, “I’m going to make sure I have security because I know I have had attempts on my life and I have too much work to do.
“So, if I end up spending 200,000, if I spend… 10 more dollars on it, you know what? I get to be here to do the work.”
She continued, “So, suck it up, and defunding the police has to happen.
“We need to defund the police and put that money into social safety nets because we’re trying to save lives.”
So, I guess those elderly in drug-infested neighborhoods do not have their lives threatened.
How about the innocent kids falling victim to thugs every day because there are not enough police on the street?
If Bush’s attitude and actions were on the right side of the aisle, the media would be outraged.
Instead, all we hear are crickets.
