It seems like every day there is a new rumor circulating about Michelle Obama.
From her fashion choices to her political leanings, there’s no shortage of controversy surrounding the former First Lady.
But one rumor that has been gaining traction lately is that she may not be who we think she is.
Is it possible that Michelle Obama is actually a man?
At the center of this investigation is an investigative reporter and documentary filmmaker named Joel Gilbert.
He self-describes as a “Michelle Obama expert” and has a film called “Michelle Obama 2024: Her Real Life Story and Plan for Power.”
In his work, he delves deep into Michelle’s early life and how her confusing racial identity shaped her into the woman she is today.
However, one question remains at the forefront of Gilbert’s research: Is Michelle Obama really a man?
Late comedian Joan Rivers famously referred to Michelle Obama as a “transvestite” in 2014, sparking speculation about her gender identity. This statement was made shortly before Rivers’ death which only added fuel to the fire.
It also didn’t help matters that when Mrs. Obama registered to vote back in 1994, she registered as male on her voter registration card–a fact which Mr. Gilbert claims to have seen documented himself in official records.

While it may seem far-fetched on its face, these two seemingly unrelated events have caused many people to wonder if there could be any truth behind this strange rumor after all.
At this point in our investigation, all we can do is speculate based on what evidence we do have available to us.
We know that Mrs. Obama registered as male on her voter registration card back in 1994 however, it’s unclear why or even if this was intentional on her part or simply an administrative error (after all, mistakes happen).
