Former Attorney General William Barr is not exactly a friend of Donald Trump’s.

To that point, if Barr has something favorable to say about Trump, you can pretty much take it at face value.

Barr recently discussed the verdict that was handed down in the Trump hush-money case, and his input was pretty surprising.

Verdict Reversal

I have not seen a single reasonable legal pundit who believes the verdict will stand in the hush-money case, so it was interesting to hear Barr’s take on this.

Most believe the judge’s actions alone would justify the verdict being overturned, but these days, it always seems to depend on the ideology of the judges, not the actual law.

The violations in this case, however, may have just been way too over the line to ignore.

To that point, Barr stated, “When people were talking about it, I said that the case was an abomination, and I didn’t think it was going to be brought at the end of the day because it was so vaporous.

“I was surprised they went ahead with it… it was an abomination. And everyone’s talked about that.

“But you think about, how are the American people going to react in a very close election if Trump loses and this case is overturned – which it will be, this case will be overturned.”

There are even Democrats that now believe the Dems just took this too far.

During some man-on-the-street interviews, a former Hillary supporter stated, “We were told that Donald Trump would be the end of democracy, but it turns out that lawfare tactics have been escalated by the Democrats and not by the Republicans.

“And so it’s from that backdrop that I believe the Republican Party is less of a danger to democracy than the Democratic Party right now.”

I found that interesting as even some of my liberal friends believe things have gotten out of hand and that it will backfire on Dems.

And let’s face facts, when you have Joe Biden as the alternative, you are not making a really strong case to have Americans pull the handle for Dems in November.
