Trump Ends Taxpayer-Funded Housing For Illegals

Trump Just Ended it!

The Trump administration has announced that it will be ending taxpayer-funded housing for illegal aliens, ending the “wasteful misappropriation” of Americans’ taxpayer dollars.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) have teamed up to get the job done, laying out their plans in a memorandum of understanding — which states that they will be sharing data and working together to identify any illegal alien currently taking advantage of public housing.

The memo states: “We will safeguard precious taxpayer resources, and we will stop the harmful practices of the former Biden administration, which favored and prioritized illegal aliens over American citizens in the expenditure of housing funds and subsidies.”

The document also notes that one of the goals of ending taxpayer-funded housing for illegal aliens is to “help stem the tide of illegal immigration in the United States and incentivize illegal aliens to voluntarily depart the country.”

In one 2023 study cited by HUD from the Center for Immigration Studies, a shocking 59% of illegal alien households were found to be receiving at least one form of welfare program, compared to just 39% of native-born American households. Even more shockingly, nearly half of households headed by illegals are on food stamps and 39% are on Medicaid. This costs U.S. taxpayers approximately $42 billion.

HUD Secretary Scott Turner spoke out about the move, arguing that “American tax dollars should be used for the benefit of American citizens, especially when it comes to an issue as pressing as our nation’s housing crisis.”

“This new agreement will leverage resources including technology and personnel to ensure American people are the only priority when it comes to public housing,” he continued, adding: “We will continue to work closely with DHS to maximize our resources and put American citizens first.”

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem warned illegal aliens that the “gravy train is over,” adding: “If you are an illegal immigrant, you should leave now.”

“The entire government will work together to identify abuse and exploitation of public benefits and make sure those in this country illegally are not receiving federal benefits or other financial incentives to stay illegally,” she continued.

This news comes as the Trump administration continues to crack down on illegal immigration, attempting to not only deport illegal aliens, but to encourage illegal aliens to self-deport and to discourage future illegal aliens from coming to the United States.
