Trump Gets Surprise Setback… Nobody Saw This Coming

Reports are now in for the first six months of the year in terms of fundraising.

Shockingly, Donald Trump was not atop the list.

Instead, it was Ron DeSantis, racking up an impressive $45 million.

Sign of Things to Come

So, this figure may be a bit deceptive, but it is still rather shocking.

I say deceptive because Trump’s Super PAC has still not reported, but the fact that the direct donations for DeSantis outpaced Trump is a big story.

Trump has taken some pretty big hits recently and I think people are starting to move away from him just a bit.

When you see Biden polling at 38 percent and Trump still only beating him by about four percent in national polls, it is a scary prospect in terms of the 2024 election.

That too, however, is a bit difficult to figure out because not every state is running a poll on these two just yet.

National polls mean very little when it comes to a federal election, as we all know.

If Trump wins the right combination of states, well, that is all that really matters.

He could be losing in a national poll yet still win the electoral vote, which is why so many people were soured on polls in the 2016 election.

Trump lost the popular vote by almost three million votes, which was very reflective of the polls at the time.

However, he won the electoral college vote because he won the right combination of states.

That four percent margin Trump is winning by right now in mock polls could actually represent a landslide electoral win.

That said, voters seem to be entertaining the idea that DeSantis is the better option for 2024.

Of course, none of this matters if Trump decides to run. If he runs, he wins the nod, and there is little doubt about that.

If that happens, the GOP immediately goes into trying to win back the voters that have repeatedly said that regardless of who is on the other side, they will never vote for Donald Trump.
