This weekend, Donald Trump sat down for an interview with Fox News where he offered up a rather disturbing little fact.
According to Trump, the Secret Service never told him there was a threat at the rally.
Trump even stated that had he known, at the very least, they could have delayed him going on stage until the threat had been nullified.
They Never Told Him
Trump and his VP, JD Vance, were on Fox News with Jesse Watters discussing the assassination attempt.
Watters asked Trump if he was ever told about the threat, and Trump responded, “Nobody mentioned it. Nobody said it was a problem.
“[They] could’ve said, ‘Let’s wait for 15, 20 minutes, 5 minutes.’
“Nobody said…I think that was a mistake.”
He continued, “When you have Trumpers screaming, the woman in the red shirt, ‘There’s a man on the roof,’ and other people, ‘There’s a man on the roof and who’s got a gun,’…that was quite a bit before I walked on the stage.
“And I would’ve thought someone would’ve done something about it.”
This was just one of the many breakdowns in security during that event that almost cost Donald Trump his life and did cost the life of one innocent civilian.
Authorities had multiple opportunities to arrest the shooter before he took the shot, but at the very least, once they identified him as a threat, there is no way that Trump should have been permitted to take that stage.
This was a colossal screw-up on the planning end, and it all goes back to Director Cheatle, who has since resigned.
But if you ask me, she should be facing charges for both the attempt on Trump’s life as well as the innocent civilian who was killed during the assassination attempt.
