A local community in North Carolina is heartbroken today.

A true hero and Army veteran committed suicide.

To make matters worse, he killed his wife before taking his own life.

Sad Day

David Jensen is an Army veteran and real-life hero.

While serving as a contractor for the Army, aircraft assigned to his group came under attack.

Jensen went into Army mode, rushing to an aircraft on fire and continuing to return to rescue people on board until the aircraft was completely engulfed in flames.

He was given the highest award a civilian can be given for his act of courage, the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Valor.

At the time, he stated, “Being honored at the Pentagon Hall of Heroes is remarkable.

“I never would’ve imagined that in my entire life.

“So it’s a huge honor, and I’m very blessed to be here to be a part of it, and very blessed to be a part of the Asymmetric Warfare Group.”

The horror was discovered when Jensen did not show up for work.

A neighbor checked on them only to find both bodies dead in the home.

When authorities entered the home, both were dead from gunshot wounds, with the investigation finding that it was a murder-suicide.

The local community was stunned, as Jensen’s wife owned a local interior design business and was well known and well-liked in the area.

This is yet another heartbreaking story of a veteran succumbing to mental health issues that has resulted in a heartbreaking loss of life.
