Anti-Hamas Protests Erupt In Gaza, Residents Demand Peace

Tensions Flare in Gaza Again

Anti-Hamas protests have erupted in Gaza, with Gazans demanding an end to the terror group’s rule over the territory in what many news outlets are calling a “rare display of opposition.”

On March 25, protesters marched through the streets of Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza. They could be heard chanting anti-Hamas slogans, demanding that the terror group give up control of Gaza and calling for Hamas to release the rest of the hostages, according to The Jerusalem Post.

The Center for Peace Communications released footage of the protests in a post on X, where the protesters could be heard chanting “Hamas get out!”

“Gaza’s people don’t want wars,” the post read. “They demand the end of Hamas’s rule. They demand peace.”

Another protest occurred in Khan Younis, where protesters were chanting: “Oh the shame, you sold Gaza with dollars” and “Hamas is a terrorist.”

Of course, as they are a terrorist group, Hamas responded to the protests by attacking protesters in the streets:

Even less surprising, outlets that often publish articles sympathetic to Hamas have been avoiding coverage of the growing anti-Hamas protests in Gaza, including Al Jazeera.

However, one Al Jazeera journalist did cover the protests, but his entire coverage was a lie — as he portrayed them as anti-Israel protests, which is easy to do considering the fact that most viewers cannot understand what the protesters are chanting.

According to Palestinian peace activist Hamza Howidy, Al Jazeera’s Anas Al-Sharif is trying to twist the narrative of the demonstrations.

“Al Jazeera’s journalist, who hid while the protestors were looking for anyone to cover the anti-war & anti-Hamas protests, is working to change the narrative and the demands of the protestors; we want to end the war and Hamas to step down from ruling Gaza,” Howidy explained in a post on X, responding to Al-Sharif’s lie-filled post.

The protests continued the following day, as leaders of Gaza City’s Shejaiya neighborhood called for more protests at noon on March 26. The leaders also demanded that Hamas relinquish control of the area, according to Palestinian Christian activist Khalil Sayegh.

The activist also revealed that the assembly of the Southern Gaza clans have demanded a “popular uprising” against the terror group, accusing Hamas of selling and gambling with the blood of Palestinians to suit their own interests.

This news comes as the Israel-Hamas war continues to escalate, as Hamas has refused to abide by the terms of the ceasefire agreement, leading Defense Minister Israel Katz to threaten to annex parts of Gaza if the remaining hostages are not released.

“I have instructed the IDF to seize additional areas in Gaza, evacuate the population, and expand security zones around Gaza to protect Israeli communities and IDF soldiers,” Katz said last week, according to The Jerusalem Post. “The more Hamas persists in its refusal to release the hostages, the more territory it will lose, which will be annexed to Israel.”
