An early morning incident has left one man dead at the Capitol.
According to local reports, he lost his life via his own hand.
The man reportedly drove his car into a barricade by the Capitol.
He emerged from the vehicle as it erupted into flames, shot into the air, then turned his weapon on himself.
Crazy…
I give up trying to figure out what these people are thinking.
From the reports I have seen, this was a purposeful crash, as though he thought he would be able to get his car through the barricades and destroy the Capitol.
He appeared to have been driving a sedan, hitting the barricade about a block from the building.
The incident happened around 4 a.m. Sunday morning, so who knows what type of mental state the man was in at the time of the incident.
Capitol Police reportedly never even had to fire a shot.
The agency stated, “At this time, it does not appear the man was targeting any Members of Congress, who are on recess, and it does not appear officers fired their weapons.”
The incident is currently under investigation by the DC Metropolitan Police.
